CFA Level II

by Andrew C. MacDonald on August 21, 2009

After waiting over 2 months for results, I was pleased to see the results I had been hoping for. Upon completing the exam in June, I felt fairly confident that I had done well, but knew I couldn’t be sure until the results were actually published.

This year’s LII pass rate of 41% represents the lowest pass rate of all 3 levels, so I am happy to have made the cut. Normally LI has the lowest pass rate, but this year LII was the tough one.

After completing the Level I exam, I posted some tips I felt were key to my success. When I began studying for Level II, I kept these tips in mind, and did my best to follow the same strategy. The 5 key points were:

  1. Start Early
  2. Have a Plan
  3. Apply the Knowledge as You Go
  4. Talk to Other Candidates
  5. Practice, Practice, Practice

Its good to know that this strategy has worked again, and that my study efforts have paid off. If you are a candidate in the CFA program, see my original post for some tips on CFA success: CFA Level I
